AgBiz Accounting - The Firm

AgBiz Accountants are a Waikato based Chartered Accountancy firm formed by Jane Evans. Whilst the firm was established early 2016 we have been meeting the needs of our clients for the last eleven years since Jane returned from overseas to work as a Chartered Accountant in the Waikato in 2007.

Jane was previously a Partner at Accountants On London, Hamilton and at BDO Waikato (now PKF Hamilton). Tim Doyle joined Jane as a director of AgBiz Accountants on 1st April 2017. Jane and Tim have worked together over most of the past nine years. Jane, Tim and the team work with clients New Zealand wide and are located in the central Waikato town of Cambridge.

Jane Evans - Chartered Accountant

Jane's never been quite like other accountants, she is a creative thinker, never afraid to challenge herself and the coach and mentor in her likes to challenge those around her. She embarked on her journey as a Chartered Accountant in rural Hawkes Bay spending time in several large accounting firms, including more recently, Accountants on London (Hamilton), and BDO Waikato. She has worked as a Financial Controller in a roading and utilities company and did a stint overseas working for global law firm Clyde & Co as a project and management accountant, and has built up experience in both the commercial arena and public practice. She is passionate about growing great NZ businesses and the farm girl in her is passionate about the NZ agricultural industry. Early in 2016, Jane founded AgBiz Accountants, a lifelong dream where she continues to look after clients she has worked with for the past nine years since returning from overseas.

Jane has two daughters and is a keen masters rower,  mountain biker and she loves to dance. 

Tim Doyle – Chartered Accountant

Tim is passionate about working with business owners to help achieve success. Over the last ten years, Tim's experience has ranged from working with SME businesses around the Waikato to working within a FTSE 250 company in London; so he has a wealth of knowledge to call upon. His knowledge and experience means he is able to communicate boring accounting language in such a way that business owners can understand and implement immediate action.

Outside of the office you'll find Tim training in the pool or on the road for an Ironman, having a beer with mates, or getting stuck in to property renovations.

Annette Cross - Chartered Accountant

Annette comes from a science background and is a passionate animal lover.  Having previously worked at BDO Waikato (now PKF Hamilton), she has a wide range of technical and practical abilities.  She is widely versed in the agricultural and bloodstock sectors having worked in veterinary practices, and on dairy and stud farms.

In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading and a glass or two of red wine.

Tim FitzPatrick - Chartered Accountant

Tim joined the AgBiz team in April 2019.  Tim has held senior accounting positions in both chartered accountants offices and the corporate sector over the past 10 years. He enjoys working with a diverse portfolio of clients and helping them to achieve their business and personal goals.   

Outside of work Tim enjoys playing squash and spending time with his wife and two young daughters.

Michelle Brace – Accountant

Michelle grew up in Cambridge, a Waikato girl at heart she is delighted to be back working in her home town.    Michelle has vast experience in administration, accounts/book-keeping, software and payroll from many years working in Auckland, and brief stints in Melbourne and Sydney.

Working in Defence, Health, Real Estate, Construction, Fire Protection and Financial Services industries has given Michelle a diverse knowledge base. With a passion for software and accounting Michelle has completed her Accounting degree and is working towards becoming a Chartered Accountant.

Michelle has a son, Jack, a passion for travelling and together with her family run a Lodge accommodating large sports groups.

Sue Hoyle - Accountant

Originally from Scotland, Sue has a degree in Animal Production Science from the University of Edinburgh.  Sue has a great deal of experience in accounting in both Scotland and New Zealand and Sue and her husband have had a diverse range of business experience from horticulture to coffee roasting and running a farm stay property.

Sue now lives in Picton but is still very much part of the AgBiz Team.  Sue loves to explore the beautiful country she has made her home and can often be found kayaking the Malborough Sounds.

Kim Fredrickson - Client Services Administrator

Kim was born and bred in Taranaki and grew up on a dairy farm.  She relocated to Cambridge with her husband Mike and three children Tayla, Lochie and Jenna. Until 2019 she spent most of her time on a leased dairy farm milking 250 pedigree cows under the beautiful Mount Taranaki.  As well as being involved on the farm, Kim has always held financial and administrative roles, with many years experience as an accounts technician, legal secretary,office manager and a school office administrator. Kim and her family have settled well into Cambridge and are enjoying the numerous sporting opportunities that are on offer here. 

Kim is often found sitting under a gazebo watching her daughter play cricket for Northern Districts and Waikato Valley, enjoying the sights on her bike or down at the Lake with her family and friends kayaking.

Kerri Dwane - Senior Accountant

Kerri joins us as an experienced senior accountant with more than 20 years of experience in chartered accountancy offices, Kerri loves working with numbers and has a passion for providing clients with accurate information to help them achieve their business goals.

In her spare time Kerri enjoys spending time with her daughter Emma, as well as reading, baking and cross stitch.

Nicky Knowles - Practice Manager

Nicky is our practice manager and brings a wealth of knowledge and skills from the banking sector and also more recently the travel industry. Nicky is passionate about providing an outstanding customer service experience and is always looking for the best customer centric solutions.

Since 2004, Nicky has been living in Cambridge. She is almost considered to be a local, as this is the town where she and her husband Dave, chose to raise their two sons. 

Penny Evans - Administration Support

Penny provides administration support to the AgBiz team.  Penny is at Cambridge High School and loves all aspects of dance and musical theatre.

Abbie Evans – Administration Support

Abbie provides administration support to the AgBiz team. Abbie is at Wintec, loves to keep fit, travel and is a mountain biker in her spare time.
